What is the metaverse?

<p>When Facebook Inc announced that it was changing its name to Meta last month, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that this reflected the company’s ambition of “building the metaverse”. <br><br>Other big brands such as Microsoft and Epic Games have also said that they will invest in this type of technology. <br><br>But, what exactly is the metaverse and how close are we to being a part of it?</p>
