There was a bitter feud between the fairies and the leprechauns, that ended in a truce and a dance party. Children made a wish in a real life pot of gold before butterflies and bees, shakers and movers made their way down Shipquay Street for the parade, led by a pipe band and Steelstown GAC.

Hundreds of people, wearing green t-shirts, hats and waving the Irish flag turned out to watch the annual Saint Patrick's Day Parade in Sydney on Sunday (March 17).<br/> <br />To celebrate the patron saint of Ireland, traditional Irish dancers demonstrated their moves along the Sydney streets as floats carrying people dressed in all things Irish made their way through the cheering crowds.<br/> <br />People from County Fermanagh, one of the six counties of Northern Ireland, carried a big banner as they marched through the streets following bagpipe rhythms.<br/> <br />The parade ended in Hyde park where some participants enjoyed a hard earned Guinness.

Weather and ice thickness permitting (for safety), large squares of ice are cut using chainsaws from the mouth of the Leland River on Lake Leelanau. A small number of people use poles to guide the "berg" down the river into Leland. The slow trip is less than 1/2 mile long."

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Hundreds of thousands of people celebrated St. Patrick's Day in the Irish capital Dublin on Saturday (March 17), where they gathered to watch the annual parade.<br/> <br />Police said more than half a million people lined the streets through the city to watch the 3,000-strong parade.<br/> <br />Among those taking part in the parade, which traveled from the city's Parnell Square to St. Patrick's Cathedral, were marching bands, theater troupes and dancing groups from around the world.

Flags were flying at the annual St Patrick's Day parade around the centre of Ashton-in-Makerfield, organised by the Brian Boru Club.
